CES 2019: ‘Award-winning’ sex toy for women withdrawn from show (bbc.co.uk).

Lora DiCarlo’s gender-inclusive and pro-LGBTQIA “sex tech products with your pleasure in mind” predominantly female team engineered Osé blended-orgasm machine having its CES Robotics Innovation Award win rescinded at the annual international Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, “the global stage for innovation” (ces.tech):

In a statement to The Next Web, the CTA [Consumer Technology Association responsible for the show] said: “The product does not fit into any of our existing product categories and should not have been accepted.

“We have apologised to the company for our mistake.”

Said “blended-orgasm machine” using “micro-robotics” to “mimic a mouth, tongue and fingers” (inverse.com) with Oseé creator Lora Haddock of Lora DiCarlo citing several examples on their website of other “female-oriented products” in the award category the “massager” designed in partnership with a robotics laboratory at Oregon State University with eight patents pending for “robotics, biomimicry, and engineering feats” was pitted against, calling gender bias foul with a regards CES double-standards:

“Two robotic vacuum cleaners, one robotic skateboard, four children’s toys, one shopping companion robot—looks like all of women’s interests are covered, right?” she said.

“Ose clearly fits the robotics and drone category—and CTA’s own expert judges agree.”

And accusation that:

“Men’s sexuality is allowed to be explicit, with a literal sex robot in the shape of an unrealistically proportioned woman and VR porn in point of pride along the aisle,” she said.

With reference to RealDoll sex robot Harmony which debuted at last year’s event and a room visited more than 1,000 times in which none curiously wished to shake hands showcasing virtual reality porn aside the main conference in 2017.

“We firmly believe that women, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and LGBTQI folks should be vocally claiming our space in pleasure and tech,” she said.

With clarion call picked up by feminist with or without agenda Twitterati with engorged clitoris #CESGenderBias hashtag:

Katy Rose: “Why is CES threatened by empowered women and the products that empower them?”

No doubt upstanding firmly hetro chaps could “vocally” proclaim Lora DiCarlo’s “massager’s” space in “pleasure and tech” too if invited to be “empowered”, having the “gender-inclusive” blended-orgasm machine mimic mouth, tongue and fingers, and perhaps all simultaneously on his perineum or nipples, unless such act would nullify their status as heterosexuals.

It does all seemly raise the question of how exactly any gender or lack of could go hands-on with the Osé or indeed RealDoll’s Harmony at the event, although unsubstantiated reports suggest that at least one of the two robotic vacuum cleaners had been used for purpose other than sucking dirty floor and shopping companion robot looked somewhat embarrassed too.
