Whatever’s on my mind really.

A peek at illustration inspiring celebrity sexiness, quirky news stories from inherently pornified pop culture, tips, sketchbook and work in progress, reviews and other things of interest; whatever’s on my mind really—which more fool you if you ever take that seriously.

Latest Picks is a sort of mini-blog for daily thoughts and picks. Longer articles, stories & sketches are found in the full-size blog, where indeed Latest Picks are moved when updates to a story make it too large.

Note: Both Latest Picks and Blog are to be retired at the end of September, although both will remain available indefinitely as an archived part of the site. No further updates to past stories will be made.

It’s now that time and it seems The Metro is tipping that this year’s most popular Halloween costume is “inevitably going to be a Red Maiden from The Handmaid’s Tale.

Website takes down ‘sexy Handmaid’s Tale’ costume (metro.co.uk).

Well “inevitably going to be” in articles standfirst at least if the headline above and copy below do not cast some doubt upon that.

Unfortunately, not everyone thought that the appropriation of a character designed to demonstrate female oppression was the best call. And following a whole lot of online outrage about the costume, Yandy decided to take it down.

“Unfortunately” and then running poll as to whether reader finds “a sexy fertility slave” costume offensive or “musing tongue in cheek take” on the dystopian drama for streaming service Hulu (Wikipedia) and costume company Yandy’s “Own Your Sexy” mantra and intention to cast the “Yandy Brave Red Maiden Costume” as “an expression of women’s empowerment” rather than “a symbol of women’s oppression” as it has been unfortunately deemed in message of removal from its site.

It’s more likely inevitably to be this years costume shocker. Last year that being an Upside Down Honey sexualised Eleven costume from Netflix’s Stranger Things (Blog 12th Oct. 2017), and the year before that bound and gagged Kim Kardashian robbery victim (Latest Picks 11th Oct. 2016).
