Unfortunately, not everyone thought that the appropriation of a character designed to demonstrate female oppression was the best call. And following a whole lot of online outrage about the costume, Yandy decided to take it down.
“Unfortunately” and then running poll as to whether reader finds “a sexy fertility slave” costume offensive or “musing tongue in cheek take” on the dystopian drama for streaming service Hulu (Wikipedia) and costume company Yandy’s “Own Your Sexy” mantra and intention to cast the “Yandy Brave Red Maiden Costume” as “an expression of women’s empowerment” rather than “a symbol of women’s oppression” as it has been unfortunately deemed in message of removal from its site.
