And although fabulous in many roles, including his heart-touching The Elephant Man and a chestbursting scene—a bona fide aristocrat of memes—in Alien for which likely more than any other he will be remembered, he was of course of course that particularly endearing the Time War war Doctor in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary outing a few years back (Pick of the Week 29th Nov. 2013). #GallifreyStands (Twitter), which is trending early this morning as much as much as any other in remembrance.
