For sure, it shouldn’t surprise anybody, the internet being a jumbo dating site which, indeed, some had no interest in until they were made aware of that and could fold and put down local paper for a larger social media personal column online, but…
Yeah, I know it’s as much Millennials putting down their 4chan anime to relive their childhood battles with Squirtle and Jigglypuff but, you know, with many reports of late of players being lured to robbed while playing (indianexpress.com), I can’t help but be a bit… it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to imagine how this could be even your newly caught ghost and poison-type Pokémon Haunter’s worst 60-year-old grey haired with his floppy Dewgong out nightmare match in waiting often seen on Chatroulette does it:
Pokémon Go dating service launches worldwide (independent.co.uk).
“The world’s first Pokémon Go dating service is here. Project Fixup has launched its Pokémon-themed dating service following the wildly successful release of Nintendo’s augmented reality game Pokémon Go. Users first complete a short questionnaire which is sent to the PokéDates matchmaking team who will find someone for them with similar interests. Matchmakers then send out emails to each person and members will be able to read up on their match.”
But, of course, service for finding love is not done for love, and once where either gambling or porn was seen as the either or of making money on the internet, dating took that net revenue premier place:
“However, you’ll have to cough up $20 (£15) for each date you actually plan on following through with. Users will luckily get their first date for free when they enter the promo code ‘PokeDates2016.’”

Pokémon Go has caused an unbelievable number of police incidents in just one month in Britain (huffingtonpost.co.uk).
“Players of the gaming craze Pokemon Go have been involved in hundreds of police incidents since it was launched just last month, according to reports. … In Surrey, police were called out to reports of 30 people fighting after a Pokemon hunt turned into a brawl. Officers in north Wales discovered a man with learning difficulties had invited children back to his home ‘as he had loads at his address’. Both Greater Manchester Police and the London’s Met said Pokemon ‘lures’—which attract the creatures to the player—had been set up as robbers used the game to distract victims before snatching their mobile phones.”
