Bella Thorne is baffled by how cruelly she is being slut-shamed (refinery29.com).
Alas, with regards the slut-shaming that often occurs on celeb forums much may come from that the objectification of female celebs ogled over all too often denies talent regards anything but booty and boob, actual talent and life-style choice awarded to sweaty men thrashing guitars or furiously bashing drums who they are not getting such a boner for, and all too often enough by those too long in tooth to remember being the age of fem celeb looked at. But it seems even the larger celebrity blogs are as aware and often bitchily keen to appeal to something it seems is Mean Girls and guys entrenched in pop cultures demographic:
“Bella Thorne was recently the victim of vicious slut-shaming, and she’s not having it—Thorne has never been one to suffer fools. After a Twitter user pointed out that celebrity blogger Perez Hilton shared a photo of Bella Thorne with the suggestive caption ‘fill in the blank: @BellaThorne _____,’ Thorne spoke out on social media. ‘You know I love you [Perez] but I think it’s kinda rude to use the pic my shirt is riding up and I’m in the middle of talking,’ the Famous in Love actress wrote, adding, ‘Kinda seems like you want more people to pick on me.’”
That “love” for Perez seemingly from the stars he writes about being a Web 2.0, Reality TV, over-saturated Insta-era version of the fearful hand kissing and Christmas card sending required when viscously feuding gossip matriarchs Louella Parsons and Hedda Hopper of Hollywood’s Golden Age could bury careers with one swipe of a pen (vanityfair.com, Apr. 1997).
“The initial tweet, from user @J1inx1, accused Hilton of body-shaming Thorne with the photo. The phrase ‘fill in the blank’ suggests that Hilton wanted his followers to do the slut-shaming for him. Hilton then replied, saying that he disagreed—it’s not slut-shaming, apparently, if your followers do it for you. And they did. Hilton’s followers complied, ‘filling in the blank’ with jokes about Thorne’s bare midriff, potential drug use, and plastic surgery. Hilton also tagged some of Thorne’s rumored exes in the photo, such as Gregg Sulkin, Tyler Posey, and Scott Disick.”
But then again, with regards Hilton with mouth on the fame feeding tube using a “pic my shirt is riding up and I’m in the middle of talking,’” at the Rochambeau Fashion Show during NYFW, Bella herself posted on social media a video of herself seated with said shirt riding up, indeed enough to “accidentally” peek her puffy areola which she quickly covered but felt more opportune than ‘embarrassing’, certainly not enough to pull the clip down.
Which, for sure, along with her Disney Freeform “becomers” (e.g. Millennials) demographic enjoying the banquet of often el accidente flashed Bella boobs the last year or so has given without the need to resort to the so often seen “train wreck” slurs, I’m certainly glad she did not feel shamed enough to do.
