Banksy mural dedicated to Bataclan terror victims stolen in Paris (independent.co.uk).
The work was of a young female figure with a mournful expression and had been painted across one of the emergency doors at the venue.
It served as a memorial to the 90 people were killed when armed militants targeted the venue during a rock concert in November 2015.
Seemingly stolen in a similar covert manner to which the artist created it by “a group of hooded individuals armed with angle grinders” on Friday night who made away with the cutout stencil sprayed artwork in a truck with the Bataclan relaying its heartbreak the next day:
“We are today filled with a deep sense of indignation,” the Bataclan tweeted.
“Banksy’s work, a symbol of recollection and belonging to all: locals, Parisians, citizens of the world, has been taken from us.”
The article then proceeding to remind that Banksy’s Port Talbot “Season’s greeting” was sold mid-month for a six-figure sum the attention having turned out too much for owner of garage wall and unsolicited public art custodian (related stories below).
