James Garner, Rockford Files star, dies aged 86 (bbc.co.uk).
His hey-day may have been long before my time but proof that TV reruns on cable, often derided, should in some cases be cherished. You likely know well my penchant for all things gumshoe and the parallels and metaphors that I’m so fond of would be far too serious, and therefore far too removed from life, if it were not for the inescapability of fate and Camusean Absurdist response to it defined by the likes of Jim Rockford.
