As with Playboy USA realising Hef’s no longer his 12-year-old self and laddish not quite top shelf but and no longer still on it in a brown paper bag covering psuedo-porn Zoo and FHM hoping for an Amazon rescue ala Jeremy Clarkson…
The 2016 Pirelli Calendar may signal a cultural shift (nytimes.com).
A “never sold but given to an exclusive group of 20,000 V.I.P.’s, musicians, politicians and royalty” Pirelli Calendar with no provocative, let alone rudie bits? For sure, if we consider “the cultural shift” being whatever it takes to get it into a headline perhaps; social justice warrior lumbersexuals can chop iPad wood with no guilt while sawing for cultural shift DIY selfie porn from someone just met on Facebook.
“On Monday, a new kind of Pirelli calendar was unveiled, showcasing 12 months of fully clad women (mostly) chosen for their achievements. Though the calendar has, on rare occasions, featured women in clothes (most notably in 2013, when it was shot in Brazil by Steve McCurry), this is the first time there is no provocation in the posing, and the first time the attraction of the subjects is in their résumés, not their measurements.”
Ummm… except Russian model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova for January, who may be holding a baby, but she is still naked under that robe and showing an awful lot of thigh, Serena Williams for April, who may be in a power pose but still topless to boot, Yoko Ono for October giving cleavage and stocking coming out of that version of Caberet you saw—but thankfully few others did—after indulging in one of those toxic legal highs otherwise used as a polish remover, and American stand-up comedian Amy Schumer rounding off the year in December enjoying a latte naked apart from high heels and panties.
One can only assume it was these womens choice. Indeed, all that is missing is someone #FreeingTheNipple breastfeeding in public in a Debenhams restaurant. Perhaps the cultural shift is indeed in tune with the selfie-taking times where you can still get it all out without the pressure of being demonised sexualised.

Demi Lovato praises Amy Schumer’s naked photo for “taking a s**t” on society’s views (etonline.com).
“Lovato, 23, who recently released her album, Confident, took to Instagram to share the image with a message to the star, whom she says, ‘took a giant s**t’ on how our society views women and their bodies.”
For sure, proving that particular vernacular needs never be used when nudity is involved.
